Sarah is working again with Mark and Tom at Crossover Labs to deliver a workshop focussed on LGBTQ issues at the National Theatre.
Are you fed up with the lack of LGBTQ focus and voices in digital media? While TV and film have made significant progress we continue to build digital worlds where gays, lesbians and trans people are practically invisible. Are these the worlds we should be building? Join us and make a change.
XO LGBTQ Media Lab brings together creatives developing LGBTQ focussed digital media projects with expert mentors from a range of disciplines to develop story, user experience, engagement strategy and routes to market.
We want to help you develop your project to increase the visibility of LGBTQ characters and issues in digital and interactive media, while providing you with a toolkit of methodologies to improve your practice. We are looking for a range of fiction and non-fiction projects which include some degree of interaction and a narrative focus. This could include but is not limited to:
– Web series
– Virtual Reality
– Augmented Reality
– Interactive Storytelling
– Technology driven performance
The three days will culminate in a practice pitch to a panel of industry experts who will offer advice and suggestions for funding opportunities to take each project forward. The panel will also choose one winning project who will receive a full delegate pass to Sheffield Doc/Fest 2017.
We are very excited and proud to be able to offer this programme in partnership with The National Theatre. XO LGBTQ is made possible by Creative Skillset’s Film Skills Fund, which is funded by the BFI with National Lottery funds, through the Skills Investment Funds.
